In the Dark of the Night I was Tossing and Turning

Oh, come on…Anastasia? Anyone? Well, I simply used it because that’s exactly what happened. Yet another uneventful day in summer has passed while I am on my road to recovery (it’s not Mono, thank allah), and I find not only myself but my summer melting away before my eyes. No, this is not a good think, much as some would like to believe.

We did some research yesterday and found that in Wisconsin, all virtual schooling comes with having to attend your local school for part of the day. To which I say: What the Fuck?

What is this? First of all, what do you think the reasons for Virtual School are? Let’s see, here’s my list.

One, you were falling behind in your public school and needed a different alternative.

Two, you were too advanced for some classes and higher level classes were not offered in the school.

Three: you had social, emotional,  and/or moral issues with the school and/or it’s students and staff that you found unresolvable.

Four: you did not feel safe or educationally nurtured at your school. This could include but is not limited to lack of acceptance into extracurriculars, lack of one on one clarification on educational topics with your teacher(s), failure to communicate time and dates of practices/meetings that you are required to attend by group leader/team captain/advisor.

Five: you were too easily distracted by your social life and needed a more private way of taking your classes.

Six, you were being bullied, mistreated, hated on, hazed, picked out, or unfairly judged by your peers or your teachers with no foreseeable end or resolution to said torment.

I think there are a lot more, but those do happen to be some big ones. So why, I ask myself, is it necessary to even half-submerge yourself into that when you could be getting a full high school education, all the bells and whistles and hoops minus the circus clowns, at home?

Exactly my point. If I lived in Minnesota, I know of two programs that would fit my academic needs (catch up on Algebra with a large side of music theory, literary interpretation, and writing) without me having to haul my ass to any schools, especially ones that I had troubles coping with. Is it just me, or does that make about fifty-thousand buttloads more sense than the way we have it set up here?

Okay, I’m done with the rant. Yesterday, the highlight of my life was watching the Series Finale of Charmed. Yes, I am done, al fine. I may have teared up just a little. That is all.

Love ya!
